Hey,

I originally wanted to revisit

as 18 months have passed since that thread. I rebased/reworked the initial
patch, and while testing it (export IBOSINFO_NETWORK_TESTS=1; make check),
I fixed some issues with debian/ubuntu/fedora/altlinux data.
